Auxiliary Meeting Cancelled May 19

We hope that everyone is continuing to do well during this challenging time of COVID-19.
Our Post is still closed with the exception of carry out food and the Chicken BBQ’s. All are being encouraged to take precautions and to practice social distancing when they are in the community.
The District meeting has been rescheduled for June 7, Dept of PA and National Conventions have both been cancelled.
We have decided to cancel the Auxiliary meeting on May 19. It is our hope that we will hold our June meeting on June 16.

VFW Carry Out

While our canteen and dining room are closed for dine-in service due to the coronavirus, we will be offering takeout food from the dining room. Service is available between 11 am and 6 pm daily. 717-225-4010

Please keep in mind:
– You do not need to be a member to order food
– Call ahead to place order. Orders can be placed early in the day to be picked up later.
– We accept cash (exact amount appreciated) or credit cards. Orders may be pre-paid at time of order.

– Please understand that when you call and can’t get through, we are most likely helping another, be patient and call again.
– If you are sick, or have been with someone who is sick, please do not come in.

– Per Order of Secretary of PA Dept of Health, all customers are to wear masks while on premise
– Please respect others personal space and practice self-distancing a minimum of 6 ft

Chicken BBQ – April 25 – Update

Thank you to all who pre-ordered Chicken BBQ Dinners for April 25! We sold 476 pre-ordered dinners!

Pick up pre-orders at the tent in the parking lot starting at 10:30 am. If possible, please have exact change to help keep the line moving and remember to use your mask/bandana when picking up your dinners. Dinners not picked up by 12:30 pm may be sold to another customer. 

If you did not pre-order, please check with us to see if there are dinners that were not picked up.

Thank you for supporting the VFW! The next Chicken BBQ will be May 9, pre-orders will start Monday, April 27.

Auxiliary April Meeting

We hope that everyone is doing well and staying well during this time of COVID-19.

As you may know, our Post is closed with the exception of carry out food and the Chicken BBQ’s. All are being encouraged to stay home as much as possible and when you need to go out to pick up food, medicine etc. to take precautions and to practice social distancing from others.

In light of COVID-19 and being safe, we have decided to cancel the Auxiliary meeting on April 21. It is our hope that this virus passes and we can once again gather safely at the Post very soon.

Chicken BBQ – April 4

Pre-Orders for the April 4 Chicken BBQ Fundraiser were amazing!
Only those that pre-ordered dinners should come through the drive-up between 10:30 am and 1 pm.
Pre-orders not picked up by 1 pm may be sold to another customer. If you did not pre-order, there may be dinners available to purchase after all pre-orders have been picked up.
Thank you so much for your support – the next Chicken BBQ will be April 25.

Chicken BBQ – March 28 update

Due to the overwhelming success of the March 28 Chicken BBQ, we will have another BBQ this Saturday, April 4!

We sold out in 30 minutes and still had a lot of people wanting chicken!

In addition to having dinners available for drive-up service, we will take pre-orders. To ensure you get your Chicken BBQ dinner(s), please pre-order via our phone app*. All pre-orders will be guaranteed for pick-up between 10:30 and 1 pm. Dinners not picked up by 1 pm may be sold to another customer.

It was heart warming to see the turn out yesterday! Thank you to all who came out to support the VFW, we hope to see you again on Saturday!

Chicken BBQ – March 28

We will hold our Chicken BBQ Fundraiser, Saturday, March 28, in compliance with the Stay At Home Order that was issued for York County.
– The Chicken BBQ dinners are boxed as carry out food ($8 half chicken, baked potato, roll and butter) and are picked up via our drive-up service in our parking lot starting at 10:30 am.
– Please do not come out if you are sick, feeling sick or have been in contact with someone who is sick.
– Please have exact change, if possible, to help minimize contact.
Information regarding the Stay At Home Order:
– Allowable Individual Activities: Getting necessary services or supplies for themselves or their family or household members, or to deliver those services or supplies to others, such as getting food and household consumer products, pet food, and supplies necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences. This includes volunteer efforts to distribute meals and other life-sustaining services to those in need.
– Allowable Travel: Any travel related to the provision of or access to the above-mentioned individual activities or life sustaining business activities.
The VFW providing carry out food is considered a life-sustaining business activity and is exempt from this order.
